EAS Consulting Group is pleased to announce that Stephen F. Sundlof, D.V.M, Ph. D., is joining EAS as an Expert Consultant on a contract basis. Dr. Sundlof served for 18 years in the Food and Drug Administration, including more than two years as Director of the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition and 14 years as Director of the Center for Veterinary Medicine. Prior to joining the agency in 1994 he was a professor on the faculty of the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine.
"We are excited that Dr. Sundlof has joined our team as we respond to the changing regulatory environment unfolding under the Food Safety Modernization Act," says EAS President Ed Steele. "He is an internationally recognized leader in food and feed safety, and will bring with him the perspective of a seasoned senior executive in the FDA."
Dr. Sundlof has worked extensively in the international arena on food and feed safety. From 1994 to 2008, he served as chairman of the influential Codex Alimentarius Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods, and has represented the U.S. government on numerous international committees.
