Studies confirm Phase 3 Sugar Controller's ability to suppress glucose, insulin levels

Two separate studies show that consumption of L-Arabinose and a trivalent, patented food source of chromium, significantly lowered both circulating glucose and insulin levels after consumption of a 70-gram sucrose challenge, compared to placebo.

Two separate studies show that consumption of L-Arabinose and a trivalent, patented food source of chromium, (Phase 3 Sugar Controller™, LA-CR, from Pharmachem Laboratories, Inc.), significantly lowered both circulating glucose and insulin levels after consumption of a 70-gram sucrose challenge, compared to placebo.

According to lead researcher, Gilbert R. Kaats, Ph.D., “The data from these two separate studies reveal that a formula containing Phase 3 Sugar Controller can facilitate a consistent suppression of both circulating glucose and insulin without adverse side effects. The replication of the suppressive effect observed in the two sequential studies increases the confidence of the formula’s efficacy.”

The studies are described in a peer-reviewed article, "A combination of l-arabinose and chromium lowers circulating glucose and insulin levels after an acute oral sucrose challenge,” by Kaats, Samuel C. Keith, Patti L. Keith, Robert B. Leckie, Nicholas V. Perricone, and Harry G. Preuss in the May issue of Nutrition Journal.

In the first phase of Study one, 20 subjects were given a 70-gram sucrose challenge and completed capillary glucose measurements at 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes for control. This was followed the next day but with the subjects also consuming a novel formula containing l-arabinose and trivalent patented food-source chromium combination.  In the second phase of Study one, 10 of the subjects took the formula daily for four weeks and repeated the baseline capillary tests at the end of each of the four weeks. In Study two, the same procedures used in the first phase were repeated with 50 subjects but with added circulating insulin measurements at 30 and 60 minutes from baseline.

“The results showed the supplement group exhibited significantly lower glucose responses for all four testing times and that the formula was significantly more effective in lowering circulating insulin after 60 minutes from baseline,” added Kaats.
