The first annual “China Anti-oxidant Berry & Super Fruit Industry Conference”is scheduled for May 26-27, 2011 in Beijing, China. The event is being organized by the Ministry of Commerce’s Chamber for Natural Products, Herbridge.com, theCenter for Public Nutrition and the Ministry of Water Resources in order to focus on the quickly developing super fruit ingredient category for food, dietary supplements and cosmetics. China is home to a growing number of super fruits such as goji and sea buckthorn. The conference will bring together a variety of industry experts from China and abroad to discuss the industry’s latest research, current applications and future prospects.
The U.S.-China Health Products Association’s executive director Jeff Crowther has been invited by the Chamber for Natural Products and Herbridge.com to give a presentation on U.S. regulations and market environment for dietary supplements. Although China is well known as the world leader in supplying ingredients and raw materials to the global dietary supplement industry, it is quickly becoming a destination for finished products. China’s supplement and natural health product industry is developing at a rapid pace and is expected to surpass Japan and the EU to become the second largest market for dietary supplements in the coming years.
