KEYNOTE: Living With the End in Mind presented by Jane Brody, New York Times columnist and bestselling-author
Friday, March 12, 8:30-10:00 am
Room 204 AB
No matter how healthfully you live — how well you eat, how much you exercise, how many supplements you take — there is no cure for mortality. Sooner or later all life draws to a close. Too many people place too much faith in the so-called miracles of modern medicine, which can make the last months, weeks, days of life unnecessarily painful for the dying and those who care most about them. Even if you are currently young and healthy, the better prepared you are to cope with end-of-life issues, the less physically and emotionally traumatic the end can be for you and your loved ones. Leavened by two dozen cartoons prepared by New Yorker cartoonists, this talk will help you and the people you love deal effectively with the myriad medical, legal and emotional issues that typically arise when life draws to a close. Brody is The Times' personal health columnist. Her widely read and quoted column, which appears every Tuesday in The Times' Science Times section and in scores of other newspapers around the country, earned her the title of "High Priestess of Health" from Time magazine. Brody has written 10 books including the best-sellers Jane Brody's Nutrition Book and Jane Brody's Good Food Book.

NutrAward Ceremony and Reception
Saturday, March 13, 5:00-6:00 PM
The Social Networking Lounge, Hall A, Booth #257
The NutrAward programme was created to reward and recognize companies that are investing in rigorous and measurable scientific studies to prove the efficacy of their proprietary ingredients or technologies. There is perhaps no greater honour than to be recognized by one's peers. Each year, industry leaders gather at the annual Nutracon conference and SupplyExpo to recognize one of their business associates for the best new use of a functional ingredient for the NutrAward. New for 2010, Nutracon will not only acknowledge and celebrate 2010's Best New Ingredient; we are excited to announce the addition of the Best Finished Product award containing a functional ingredient.
VOTING is NOW OPEN at www.nutraward.com or on-site at SupplyExpo at the Social Networking Lounge, Booth #257 in Hall A. You will need your Nutracon, SupplyExpo or Natural Products Expo West badge number to vote. It's not too late to register to attend and vote at www.supplyexpo.com or www.nutraconference.com.
