Traditional Medicinals R&D expert wins AHPA award

Traditional Medicinals® has announced that Zoë Gardner PhD(c)and the Expert Advisory Council of the Botanical Safety Handbook 2nd Edition, have been awarded the 2011 American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) Herbal Insight Award.

Traditional Medicinals®, a leader in medicinal herbal teas and sustainable business practices, to announce that Zoë Gardner PhD(c)and the Expert Advisory Council of the Botanical Safety Handbook 2nd Edition, have been awarded the 2011 American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) Herbal Insight Award. The award, which recognizes individuals or non-commercial organizations that have a significant impact on furthering knowledge and understanding of botanicals and their uses, was presented at AHPA's annual member meeting in Anaheim, Calif., on March 10. Zoe Gardner is the project manager with the Traditional Medicinals research and development team.

Gardner, a member of the Expert Advisory Council, was recognized for her revision to AHPA's Botanical Safety Handbook, which provides safety data on more than 600 herbs with guidelines for product labels, including contraindications, side effects, and drug interactions.

While Traditional Medicinals has been honored by the AHPA in the past with Katie Huggins, VP of Quality Control, receiving the 2010 Herbal Hero award, and the company receiving the 2007 Herbal Industry Leader award, Gardner is the first employee to receive the Herbal Insight award.
