Unibar Corporation, the Houston-based supplier of herbal extracts to the dietary supplement and food industries, has entered the curcumin market with the launch of its branded CurQnetic™ curcumin. Unibar will be the exclusive U.S. distributor of the new enhanced-bioavailable 80% curcumin.
CurQnetic™ is comprised of curcumin powder, vanilla and ginger extract. The addition of these herbal ingredients substantially increases the bioavailability and bioactivity of curcumin. CurQnetic™ curcumin has been the subject of in vitro and in vivo efficacy studies that supports immune function and healthy inflammatory response.
CurQnetic™ Curcumin, exclusively manufactured by Synthite Industries, the largest manufacturer of oleo resins and flavors in India, as well as the largest processor of curcumin in the world, has filed for a U.S. process patent.
“Curcumin extract currently in the marketplace is 95 percent total curcuminoids,” says Sevanti Mehta, Unibar president. “These curcumin products appear to have poor absorption, distribution, excretion and rapid metabolism, creating a need for an enhanced-bioavailable ingredient,” adds Mehta.
Unibar has begun discussions with dietary supplement and functional foods manufacturers in the U.S.
“Unibar offers an immediate, cost-effective quality plus enhanced-bioavailable curcumin with a long-term supply,” stated Mehta.
“The eventual primary marketplace includes consumers seeking a natural, research-supported option to fight aging and chronic diseases. It may also be used by consumers looking for a natural retail product alternative to NSAIDs for short-term relief of aches and pains.” Mehta said.
A Unibar Corporation representative will be available to discuss CurQnetic™ at the FCC Products booth 16028 at SupplySide West in Las Vegas, October 12-13.
