Univera, Inc. Announces Corporate Campus in Washington State

Broomfield, CO – January 14, 2004 – Univera, Inc., the holding company for its U.S. operations, including Aloecorp, Inc., Oasis Wellness Network and Unigen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., has announced its intention to relocate to a new corporate facility located in Lacey, Washington on July 1, 2004. The U.S. companies will be housed under one roof in its new location at the southern end of Puget Sound near the state capitol of Olympia, 50 miles south of Seattle.

“It has been my dream for many years to manifest a corporate campus nestled in nature that integrates environmental components, such as natural air flow, natural lighting, botanical gardens and nature walking trails,” said B. (Bill) William Lee, Univera’s Chairman of the Board. “Univera’s goal is to create a peaceful and progressive work atmosphere that exemplifies what each company stands for—health and wellness.”

Lee said the move would also foster a greater sense of community and teamwork among all of the companies, ultimately supporting their strategic and operating relationships. In addition, he said, “The move will create a geographic center for national and international expansion, with the additional benefit of improving efficiency, reducing costs and increasing profitability.”

To celebrate this momentous event, Washington Senator Paull H. Shin is hosting a welcome luncheon on January 16 for a prominent group of senators, congressional representatives, city officials, and state and local dignitaries. After presenting his opening remarks, Senator Shin will introduce Lieutenant Governor Brad Owen who will officially welcome Univera to the State of Washington.

Bill Lee and his mother, Korean Senator Helen Chung, will have an opportunity to express their thanks and appreciation to the many individuals in Lacey and Washington State who have been instrumental in helping Univera decide to call Lacey home. Derek Hall, Chief Operating Officer of Univera Inc., who also serves as President & CEO of Unigen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., will provide a corporate presentation highlighting full details of the move.

The Lees will be joined in the evening for dinner by Senator Shin, Chamber of Commerce and county and city officials, and members of the Economic Development Center, to begin cementing plans for the future.

H.Y. Sung, Univera’s CEO, commented, “The Univera family has greatly enjoyed its time in Broomfield and will miss this beautiful city and the many alliances we have nurtured over the years. However, our move to Lacey will allow us to form an incredible partnership among all four of our U.S. companies as we begin a new era as a totally integrated corporate campus—with the ultimate goal of innovatively serving our customers and health needs of the world.”
Univera’s move to Washington State is the first of two stages, which involves an initial relocation to an interim facility in Lacey by July 1, 2004. Stage two is to design and build a world-class, state-of-the-art campus on 40 acres, just one mile from the interim facility. The permanent campus will include cutting-edge laboratory facilities, warehouse, distribution and production capabilities, as well as other buildings as needed. It is estimated that the permanent campus may take up to three years to complete.
