KEARNY, NJ, JAN. 30, 2006 – Veteran actor of stage and screen, Dick Van Patten, will speak at an EXPO West seminar co-sponsored by Proprietary Nutritionals Inc. (PNI) and Natural Factors. The seminar, “Inflammation from Alzheimer’s to Wrinkles,” is scheduled for Saturday, March 25 (11 a.m. – 12 p.m.), in room 203A at the Anaheim Convention Center.Van Patten, who’s career includes more than 600 radio shows, 27 Broadway plays, 24 feature films and 7 television series, is still perhaps best known for his popular starring role as Tom Bradford in the long-running TV hit series, “Eight Is Enough.”
An avid tennis player, Van Patten was sidelined for awhile with a painful rotator cuff problem, but credits a natural product with helping him to resume play without surgery or cortisone shots. He will speak of his injury, and the regimen that helped repair the problem, at the seminar.
In addition, attendees will learn how inflammation, when left unchecked, leads to chronic diseases including Alzheimer’s, arthritis, cancer, osteoporosis, digestive complaints, fibromyalgia, and skin diseases including eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and wrinkles. Together, Author, Lorna Vanderhaeghe, and Michael Murray, N.D., will discuss clinically-researched nutrients that calm inflammation and specific lifestyle factors, nutrients, and foods that can help harness nature's healing power for optimal health.
Lorna Vanderhaeghe, a medical journalist who has been researching nutritional medicine for over 20 years, is the author of several books, including recently published Get a Grip on Arthritis and Other Inflammatory Disorders.
Dr. Murray is regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities on natural medicine and author of more than 20 books, including A Textbook of Natural Medicine, the definitive textbook on naturopathic medicine for physicians, as well as the consumer version – Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine.
