A standardized extract from Boswellia serrata made by Verdure Sciences has passed the National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) Preferred Raw Material Supplier testing program.

The extract was given the stamp of approval by NASC for meeting and exceeding high quality standards set forth by the NASC. Boswellia, from which frankincense is derived, is a rich source of compounds that promote joint health and joint function.

The certification was announced at the NASC Annual Conference, May 11-13 in San Diego. The event recognized several organizations for outstanding achievements to improving quality in the animal health supplement industry.

"As a manufacturer that continuously invests in quality, we are proud and honored to have this kind of recognition from a likewise quality-conscious group," said Blake Ebersole, Technical Director of Verdure.

Verdure's Boswellia extract is made in a dedicated botanicals-only facility listing a number of quality standards, including USDA Organic, ISO, Kosher, HACCP, cGMP and the U.S. Pharmacopoeia.

“For companies to provide quality products they must start with quality raw materials,” says Bill Bookout, NASC’s President, “Our Preferred Supplier Programs help ensure that NASC members are dealing with supply chain partners they can trust and we are proud to recommend Boswellia serrata from Verdure Sciences. I am sure we will be adding more Verdure ingredients to our qualified list.”
