Vitamin Angels seeks help with Precious Cargo campaign

Throughout the month of December all public donations up to $100,000 will be matched by campaign sponsors.

On Dec. 1, Vitamin Angels launched its Precious Cargo campaign, a fundraising effort to cover the cost of delivering vitamins to 30 million undernourished children and mothers in 2013. Throughout the month of December all public donations (up to $100,000) will be matched by campaign sponsors.

Many of the children Vitamin Angels reaches have little access to healthy foods and often eat the same meal day after day, leaving their bodies deprived of essential micronutrients. The vitamins that Vitamin Angels distributes to children and mothers in need are lifesaving and life changing. But the journey to deliver these essential vitamins to children in need can be long, complex and expensive. Many of the children Vitamin Angels reaches live in some of the hardest to reach places around the world and vitamins can take weeks if not months to reach their destinations.

“For the children and mothers we serve, the vitamins we supply are ‘Precious Cargo,’” said Howard Schiffer, president and founder of Vitamin Angels. “Every donation made in December, no matter how small, will make a huge impact. Please donate today, because the most precious thing in the world is a child’s life.”

Special thanks to Vitamin Angels’ Precious Cargo campaign sponsors: Swanson Health Products, Marine Ingredients, Albion Minerals, Connoils, Genuine Health, MegaFood, Mommy’s Bliss, Pure Source, NeoCell, Pure Encapsulations and Vitamin Retailer.
