Vitamin Retailer Magazine, Inc. (VRM), with offices in East Brunswick, NJ and Ojai, CA, has announced a trade show partnership with NNFA-West, the Sacramento, CA-based regional trade association of the National Nutritional Foods Association.
VRM is the publisher of Vitamin Retailer, Organic Products Retailer, and Nutrition Industry Executive, leading business magazines for retailers, manufacturers, suppliers and other members of the health, natural and organic products industry. NNFA-West represents natural products industry members located in the states of California, Hawaii, Arizona and Nevada.
Under terms of the partnership agreement, VRM’s sister company TLC Tradeshow Productions, Inc., based in Ojai, CA, will own and operate the NNFA-West Trade Show and Convention. TLC will share a portion of the revenue from booth sales and show sponsorships with NNFA-West on an annual basis. VRM’s three magazines will serve as the official media sponsors of the NNFA-West Trade Show and Convention.
It was further announced that the NNFA-West’s 2005 Trade Show and Convention will be held September 30 to October 2, 2005 in San Jose, CA, at the McEnery Convention Center. The theme of 2005 show is “Healthy Harvest.”
According to Marianne Morgan, president of NNFA-West, the decision to partner with VRM and TLC on the association’s trade show was approved unanimously by the NNFA-West board of directors. The NNFA-West has also elected VRM president and publisher Daniel McSweeney to serve on its board of directors.
“Our role as a trade association for this industry has changed in recent years,” Morgan noted. “We need to concentrate much more of our efforts on lobbying at the state level against legislation that can harm our industry, while also pursuing the passage of legislation that can benefit our industry and its members. In addition, NNFA-West will be concentrating its efforts on providing its members with enhanced services and educational programs, while we simultaneously strive to increase our overall membership level within our region. With these goals in mind, it makes good sense for us to partner with VRM and TLC on our trade show.”
“We are thrilled to be affiliated with the NNFA-West, which represents one of the NNFA’s largest regional associations, and we look forward to participating in the growth and success of the NNFA-West’s Trade Show beginning with the 2005 Healthy Harvest Show this October,” McSweeney said. “Our goal is to build the show into one of the premier regional trade shows with the natural and organic products industry.”
McSweeney explained that the partnership with NNFA-West will provide the association with an ongoing source of revenue from the trade show to help fund its activities on behalf of its membership. “This is a win-win deal for both the NNFA-West and our company,” noted McSweeney.
Terri Curry-McSweeney is the president of TLC Tradeshow Productions and will serve as the trade show manager for the NNFA-West Trade Show. She has previously served as show manager for the Whole Life Expo when it was held in Los Angeles. She will be assisted in coordinating all activities related to the trade show by NNFA-West executive director Dot Boyd, who is based at the association’s Sacramento office.
Reservations for exhibit space at the NNFA-West 2005 Trade Show will begin to be accepted in February, 2005. Further details about exhibiting and attending the show will be announced soon.
