Weil Nutritional Supplements Launches at Whole Foods Market Stores Nationwide

Andrew Weil, M.D.’s Comprehensive and Unique Supplement Line from Arizona Nutritional Supplements Arrives in Stores in Time for the New Year

PHOENIX (December, 2004) – After months of planning and development, Arizona Nutritional Supplements (ANS) is launching its Weil Nutritional Supplements product line in Whole Foods Market® stores nationwide. Formulated by Andrew Weil, M.D., the foremost authority on integrative medicine, the supplements will appear on shelves in the country’s 165 Whole Foods Market stores in mid-December. All of Dr. Weil’s after-tax profits from product sales will be donated to the Weil Foundation, a charity organization established to strengthen integrative medicine by supporting research, training, public education and innovations in patient care and policy reform.

“We are already thrilled to align Arizona Nutritional Supplements with a name as recognized and respected as Dr. Weil’s, and adding Whole Foods Market to the mix was a perfect fit for us and equally as exciting,” said Jeremiah McElwee, brand manager, Weil Nutritional Supplements. “We have developed a line of great products, and the Whole Foods Market stores provide an ideal environment for them to be featured in.”

The Weil Nutritional Supplement line of products features Dr. Weil’s expertly blended and balanced condition formulas for Immune Support, Cardio Support, Energy Support and Mood Support, as well as a glucosamine and chondroitin formula for joint health. The foundation of the product line includes the Vitamin Advisor Daily Pack, a complete mix of Dr. Weil’s recommended daily formulas for overall nutritional needs. The Daily Antioxidant for Optimum Health offers the right combination for fighting free radicals. In addition, the Daily Multivitamin for Optimum Health utilizes Dr. Weil’s integrative approach to bring consumers the most complete multivitamin. The product list also includes additional vitamins, minerals, nutrients, essential fatty acids and herbs.

“Whole Foods Market is very excited to be the first supermarket to offer Dr. Weil’s vitamin and supplement line,” said Betsy Foster, vice-president of purchasing and distribution. “Dr. Weil’s approach to integrative medicine and empowerment fits perfectly with Whole Foods Market’s philosophy to help shoppers make informed choices.”
Arizona Nutritional Supplements announced its exclusive agreement to license the Weil Nutritional Supplements from Weil Lifestyle, LLC, an organization founded by Dr. Weil, in October of this year. In January 2005, the supplements will arrive in other natural foods, vitamin and specialty retail stores.
