Will AOAC Take on Hoodia?

Looking at the Hoodia release from a few days ago, one wonders whether AOAC has been consulted for guidance through an analytical method standardization process. As a huge commerical product in the headlines, the motives for economic adulteration for hoodia are high, and so would the motives for companies to defend their legitimate position. So, my question is, are the legitimate hoodia companies talking with and supporting AOAC for hoodia analytical method development so that a peer reviewed industry-wide standard method can be developed?
