Agilex Flavors & Fragrances Inc. launches new Flavor Focus Collections: Flavors that are targeted for specific consumer demog

Rancho Santa Margarita, May 28, 2008: What's the flavor of a new generation? Agilex Flavors & Fragrances Inc. is about to help drink makers find out.

Agilex Flavors Division is launching its Flavor Focus Collections which target specific demographic groups to determine what kinds of flavors people in different demographic groups prefer in different kinds of foods and drinks.

"We've done the leg work and lab work to find out what flavors are preferred for groups we've targeted based on ethnicity, gender and age. And with our Flavor Focus Collections, we're set to share that wealth of knowledge and scientific expertise with our customers who will then be able to target market their products more effectively than ever," said Tom Damiano, President of the Agilex Flavors Division.

According to Damiano, Agilex will target the energy drink market before branching out to other drink segments.
"We want to be able to support our customers' winning brands by giving them guidance on which flavors consumers prefer in various beverage and food categories," Damiano said. "By understanding the specific preferences of targeted demographic groups we can assist our customers in giving their customers the flavors they want in energy drinks."
Once Agilex has that information, the company's flavor chemists can develop brand- and consumer-specific flavors based on which demographic is buying their product.

But the real advantage Agilex customers will have is to target consumers in demographics that are not already being reached by their brand.

"We can help our customers solidify their base of loyal customers, then capture a whole new segment of the market by adding flavors that will attract other demographic groups to their energy drink and, eventually, other products," Damiano said.

Agilex plans to target the flavored water market after the company succeeds in reshaping the energy drink industry. That will include vitamin-fortified waters and ready-to-drink teas.
