Zero waste grocery stores - can we buy the future in bulk?

You may be using a reusable grocery bag but how much of that packaging your food came in is reusable. Stores in Austin and Berlin are experimenting with zero-waste, bring-your-own container shopping.

If you’re like me, you have a growing collection of reusable grocery bags in a drawer or a closet somewhere. That collection is likely the result of “bag guilt”— that moment in the checkout line when you realize you forgot your bag at home and reach for another 99 cent offering of atonement. So the idea that we should remember to bring our own containers in those bags we keep forgetting and buy bulk foods at a zero-waste/zero-packaging grocery store has me wondering where I'm going to put
