Lynn Hirshfield is Participant Media’s Senior Vice President of Publishing, where she is responsible for launching Participant’s publishing division to complement the company’s films and social action campaigns. Many films she has been involved with while at Participant include “Lincoln,” “A Place at the Table,” “The Help”, “Waiting for Superman,” “The Cove,” “Food, Inc.,” “The Kite Runner,” “Charlie Wilson’s War,” “the Soloist,” “Darfur Now,” “Good Night and Good Luck,” and “An Inconvenient Truth.” She oversaw publishing of paperback original books which include the NY Times bestseller “Food, Inc.” and “Waiting for Superman,” which is sold out and in its12th printing.

Hirshfield is also the author of the award-winning book “Girls Gone Green,” published by Penguin and Puffin Books for Participant, a sustainability activist guide for readers 10 to 17. She is also the author of two books for younger children, “Sassafras: True Confessions of a Poodle Princess” and “Sassafras Goes to Hollywood.”

Lynn, who joined Participant Media in January 2005, is also responsible for leading the development of strategic marketing partnerships, integrating these partners into social action and advocacy campaigns. Lynn’s work in film, TV and the internet, has garnered a number of awards, including four Emmys, a Peabody Award and two Television Critics Awards.
