Gadot Introduces Proprietary Magnesium Citrate Compound

Dispersible Magnesium Citrate for Dairy Milk Drinks and Soy Beverages

Gadot Biochemical Ind. (GBI), Israel, launches its new, patent-pending magnesium-citrate compound, “Gadomag K,” for soy milk and dairy milk drinks as part its expanding portfolio of multiple-nutrient solutions. Gadomag K is specifically designed to provide the best solution for magnesium fortification of soy milk, dairy milk drinks, smoothies, infant formula and other milk replacements.

Gadomag K was developed to address producers’ expectations of creating and maintaining a stable suspension without any influence on organoleptic characteristics. The advantage of adding Gadomag K to soy milk and other dairy alternatives is that it causes no sedimentation and no protein coagulation. Gadomag K can be included in formulations at any practical level of the RDA for magnesium.

“Many beverage producers developing fortified dairy drinks and soy milk face big challenges in achieving a stable suspension,” explains Ronny Hacham, VP of Business Development and Marketing at Gadot. “Creating a stable suspension in milk drinks and soy milk while avoiding any sedimentation can be easily achieved by using Gadomag K, without the need for adding stabilizers such as hydrocolloids. Magnesium fortification is essential in soy milk and vegetarian infant formula in order to obtain the required magnesium RDA.”

Gadomag K is a unique form of magnesium-potassium citrate. It contains about 10% elemental magnesium and about 10% elemental potassium, and is designed to maintain complete dispersion capability when added to solutions.
“We developed a magnesium-potassium citrate compound with a synergistic effect targeting both mineral supplementation and the prevention kidney stones,” continues Hacham. "According to several studies, potassium-magnesium citrate supports treatment and prevention of , and is associated with a reduced risk of kidney stones.”
GBI, Israel, develops high-value ingredients with synergetic effects for the mineral supplement, food and beverage markets. It is the leading supplier of citrate salts, and specializes in developing products with high bioavailability.
