Here's an interesting video from a local ABC affiliate in Florida about a sherrif's deputy who started a side business as an organic grocer. Except Craig DeMange started up Organics of Naples under a non-typical business model. Rather than operating from a retail storefront, he gets food directly from an organic distributor and delivers it weekly to consumers' doors.
According to the article:
Tuesday, we were there as workers boxed up the corn, yams, grapefruit and 12 other items - per the weekly list.
"What members ask for, we try to get and most of the time we can get it," DeMange said.
DeMange charges $25 to $45, depending on the size of the box needed to package your order.
He explained there is free delivery offered for Naples residents and said it only costs a dollar or two for people in areas of Lee County.
Still, Collier told the station he doesn't intend to quit his day job. "I'm still doing the deputy thing," he said.
