MSG milk protein, lactose now certified organic

In an effort to meet the demands of consumers, Milk Specialties Global, announces it is certified to produce organic milk proteins out of its Norfolk, Neb., facility.

According to Vice President of Sales and Marketing Benoit Turpin, “You can’t go into any grocery store or restaurant without seeing organic as an option, and we want to be able to help our customers meet their customers growing demand for organic. Organic is not a fad, it is a trend that has staying power.”

The Milk Specialties Global facility in Norfolk was certified Organic in early April under the U.S. National Organic Program by OCIA International Organic Certification. This certification allows Milk Specialties to produce organic MPC 70, MPC 80, MPC 85, MPI 90, lactose and permeate.

“Customers have responded positively to the news of the certification of our Norfolk plant, which has led us to explore certifying our Mountain Lake, Minn., plant,” Turpin added. The additional certification of the Mountain Lake plant is expected to be completed by early summer.

Milk Specialties Global is an industry-leading manufacturer of innovative nutritional ingredients for the health and wellness, performance nutrition and functional food industries, with manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois, Utah and California.
