A Non-GMO Project Verified, kosher-certified cold-pressed canola oil produced in Canada makes its debut at the 2015 Engredea trade show. North Prairie Gold Canadian Canola is a minimally processed oil made from certified canola seed using non-GMO varieties and grown in the world’s premier microclimate for canola. The canola is grown by a group of Canadian prairie farmers on family farms located within a 120-mile radius of their own oil crushing facility in Saskatoon. The rich soil, cooler temperatures, clean air, and pure rainwater of Saskatchewan produce the nutrient-rich seeds required for this superior canola oil.
North Prairie Gold undergoes a single expeller cold-pressing process to create the highest quality artisan oil without being refined. The cold press technology adheres to European standards that assure the oil never exceeds temperatures above 50°F/10°C. This traditional method results in the light nutty flavor and natural amber color of premium North Prairie Gold.
Because our extra-virgin canola oil undergoes this simplified pressing, its nutrients are preserved. According to U.S. Food and Drug Administration labeling standards, North Prairie Gold is an excellent source of antioxidant vitamin E and provides 34.5 grams of omega-3 fatty acids and 63 grams of omega-6 fatty acids per 15 ml serving (1 tbsp.) per serving—more nutrients than most refined canola oils.
North Prairie Gold is available in 500 ml (16.9 fl. oz.) and 250 ml bottles, 12 per case. To order, visit the website at NorthPrairieFamilyFarms.com or contact Rick Pender, [email protected] North Prairie Gold Canadian Canola is a product of Virtex Farm Foods.
