There’s no doubt about it: The savory snack category is undergoing a shift toward healthier product portfolios. Yes, the chip sections of supermarkets (conventional and natural) still bristle with enough fat and sodium to give a cardiologist fits. But at all levels of the category and in all channels, there is movement toward better-for-you items, although that doesn’t always mean as good as what a dietitian or doctor would prescribe.
