When USDA implemented national organic regulations in 2002, organic candy had already been on Simon Candy’s mind for several years. With government- approved organic labeling, the Pennsylvania candy company finally had the reassurance it needed to invest in becoming the country’s first—and possibly only—U.S. manufacturer of organic hard candy. It launched the College Farm Organic brand in 2003.
