RTD teas are usually served cold, but the category’s sales over the last year have been red hot. Beverage Marketing Corp. tracked category growth in all retail and foodservice channels of 17.6% by volume for the year ending September 31, 2006. RTD teas beat out water (10.2%) and sports drinks/ isotonics (12.5%), but trailed energy drinks, which achieved 58% growth for the period.
