The new year evokes feelings of reinvention and a desire to look better than ever. Brands use their packaging presentation to put their best foot forward, and in the past year, several brands showed up on the shelves looking their very best in new designs.
Sweet Nothings chose to use more vibrant colors to stand out on shelves and reflect the freshness of the fruits and veggies in its products. Maine Crisp Co., a 2022 NEXTY Award finalist, designed a rebrand as artisanal as the crackers themselves. The box front now declares the product is Certified Gluten Free and calls attention to its main ingredient, buckwheat.
Some supplements also added new life to their packaging. Motherlove and MegaFood added botanical illustrations to highlight herbal ingredients.
Some of the most exciting packaging changes made products more sustainable. Yogurt brand Culina swapped out its imported, non-recyclable glass bottle for a 100% recyclable plastic container has a smaller carbon footprint and lowers the product's price point.
Caboo, which makes bamboo toilet paper and paper towels, switched from plastic packaging to paper, creating a smaller footprint on retail shelves. Here's hoping more sustainable packaging innovations will be released this year.
