Ashitaba Chalcones Show Efficacy in Battling Visceral Fat

JBSL-USA has announced the results of a clinical study showing compelling weight loss effects of its Ashitaba Chalcone Powder.

In the randomized, double-blind, parallel group study, 26 slightly obese male and female patients with BMI between 25 and 30 took 200 mg day of Ashitaba Chalcone as an active ingredient after dinner for eight weeks. The patients were measured by CT Scan (total, visceral and subcutaneous fat areas), weight, waist and hip. After the eight weeks, the researchers observed a marked reduction in the visceral and subcutaneous fat, as well as in weight, and waist and hip ratio. The noted that the rate of change in visceral fat was greater than that of the subcutaneous fat, and attributed this to the fat-burning promotion and fat accumulation-inhibition effects of the ingredient.

“Unfortunately, obesity and its complications are on a sharp rise in the United States, among people of all ages,” said Vincent Hackel, President of JBSL-USA. “Within the sea of gimmicks, fad diets and magic pills that don’t work, our Ashitaba Chalcone Powder can be a powerfully effective natural tool in combination with healthy diet and exercise to successfully address the obesity issue that most severely affects health: abundant visceral and subcutaneous fat.”

Ashitaba is a plant native to the lush Izu Islands on the Pacific coast of Japan, where its leaves have been consumed as a food and medicine for centuries. The rich golden sap from the stalks contains a potent cache of 20 unique flavonoids called chalcones. Of these, clinical investigations have discerned that two - 4-hydroxyderricin and xanthoangelol – have the most aggressive action in reducing amounts of visceral fat and subcutaneous fat, thereby improving overall health and cardiovascular status, plus helping to manage weight and obesity by improving fat metabolism.

Hackel added, “Medical science has shown clearly that fat—in particular the belly (visceral) fat that accumulates around the organs—secretes hormones that interrupt the healthy function of the metabolic, reproductive, circulatory and immune systems. We are confident that supplements containing Ashitaba Chalcone Powder gives the public a safe option in the toolkit to dramatically reduce visceral and subcutaneous fat and weight.”

About Ashitaba Chalcone Powder:
Japan Bio Science Laboratory’s Ashitaba Chalcone Powder has more than 8.0% total chalcones, measured as 4-hydroxyderricin and xanthoangelol, the two chalcones with the most potent clinical effects. JBSL ensures the quality of this concentrated preparation of the yellow sap of the plant through the vertical integration of its production—from organic farms in Indonesia where the plants are carefully cultivated using entirely organic techniques, to the sterilization and filtration that occurs in its laboratories in Japan. Ashitaba chalcone powder has a yellow color and is odor-free.
