Frutarom Launches Go-Less(TM) At Supply Side East

North Bergen, New Jersey, April 30, 2007 – Frutarom has announced the launch of Go-Less™, an innovative, proprietary ingredient blend to support bladder health in aging men and women.

Go-Less is unique in that it combines Frutarom’s EFLA® 940 special pumpkin seed extract with its SoyLife® soy germ isoflavone extract. While pumpkin seed has a centuries-old legacy as a natural remedy for urinary problems, Go-Less is the first clinically proven formulation to both target the symptoms and the causes of incontinence and overactive bladder.

Laurent Leduc, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, Frutarom USA Inc., explained that Frutarom’s special pumpkin seed extract, EFLA® 940, is a water-soluble extract that contains the complete spectrum of polar and semi-polar constituents. “Frutarom uses a proprietary process that ensures the highly selective removal of fat-soluble components from the pumpkin seed extract, allowing for increased stability and solubility with no rancidity.”

SoyLife is the only patented protected soy germ isoflavone ingredient on the market and is backed up by over 30 clinical studies. “It’s widely believed that soy isoflavones help balance hormone levels in the body. SoyLife not only contains the class of phytoestrogens that function in this way, it is also contains other phytonutrients that are associated with good health.”

Overactive bladder affects millions
Jocelyn Mathern, R.D., Frutarom’s technical specialist, said that an overactive bladder creates discomfort and concern for one in six adults over the age of 40. She explained that an overactive bladder is actually a form of urinary incontinence that causes embarrassment and compromises quality of life for those affected. “While we generally associate incontinence with older people, it is not considered a normal part of the aging process,” stated Mrs. Mathern.

Strong scientific evidence demonstrates Go-Less effectiveness
“Several human studies in both men and women have shown the ingredients in Go-Less to be effective at supporting bladder health. The blend was also well-tolerated, as the studies found no serious side effects,” Mrs. Mathern reported.

Mrs. Mathern cited a study conducted over a six-week period among 39 women between the ages of 52 and 86 years. When given a supplement that combined the Frutarom Go-Less ingredients, subjects reported a decrease in urination throughout the day and night. Sleep satisfaction was substantially improved and episodes of incontinence were decreased.

Mrs. Mathern also pointed to a study among men with pollakuria, a condition that interrupts sleep during the night because of the urge to urinate. Two groups of men over the age of 65 participated in the six-week study. Among those who were treated with the combined ingredients in the Frutarom blend, more than 86% said their symptoms were substantially alleviated. Complete details about pre-clinical in vivo research and other studies are available from Frutarom’s technical team.

Frutarom is prepared to assist customers in the development of finished products and labeling claims with Go-Less. A daily dosage of 600 milligrams can be used in applications such as capsules, tablets, softgels, beverages and bars.

Frutarom’s future alive with more nutraceutical ingredients and products
“The synergy created from Frutarom’s strength in natural botanicals and Acatris’ LifeLine branded ingredients is headed for a huge impact in the U.S. nutraceutical arena. We are anticipating the launches of more innovative products. Go-Less reflects Frutarom’s rapid integration of Acatris’ competencies with the broad and diverse Frutarom nutraceutical portfolio. Go-Less is a great start because it addresses a widespread medical condition and supports the product with compelling scientific evidence that demonstrates its effectiveness,” said Mr. Leduc.
