Karl Riedel named Solgar's new president

Karl Riedel has been named president of Solgar Vitamin and Herb, based in Leonia, N.J. Riedel will be responsible for overseeing business operations for the brand both in the United States and internationally.

Riedel has more than 25 years' experience in the natural products industry. Prior to joining Solgar, he was president of Larkspur, Calif.-based Nature's Life. Riedel has also been a frequent speaker at industry trade conferences on issues from marketing to regulatory compliance.

He has also held several key positions at the Natural Products Association, where he served four terms as a member of the board of directors, was founder and chair of the international committee, and was a 16-year member of the committee for product & label integrity. Riedel has also been a member of and long-time adviser to many other industry associations, including Citizens for Health, the American Herbal Products Association, and the International Alliance of Dietary Supplement Associations.
