Wildwood Organics Launches Public Relations Campaign in San Antonio, Houston and Austin to Promote Probiotic Soymilk(TM)

Wildwood Organics, a division of Pulmuone Wildwood, a pioneering U.S. provider of innovative soy food products, has launched a comprehensive Texas-based marketing and public relations campaign to promote its new Probiotic Soymilk.TM The beverage that is carried at H-E-B Stores in San Antonio, Houston and Austin is certified organic, heart healthy, low fat, kosher and contains eight (8) grams of soy protein per serving. Probiotic SoymilkTM has zero saturated fat and no dairy or cholesterol.

With seven live and active cultures, Probiotic SoymilkTM is available in 10 ounce vanilla, blueberry and pomegranate flavors. The MSRP is $1.69.

The Wildwood Organics marketing and public relations plan includes comprehensive media relations and sampling in those key Texan markets. The company plans to roll out the campaign nationally in 2009.

“Consumers are starting to understand the benefits of probiotics, but we want to help them better understand that studies have shown the benefits of drinking soymilk with probiotics and our new Probiotic SoymilkTM is better for you than soymilk or cultured dairy,” says John Breen chief operating officer of Pulmuone Wildwood. “It is delicious and great as a snack or meal replacement for people on the go and a good way to maintain a healthy weight. Plus, this product is made with 100% US grown soybeans most of which are grown less than 100 miles from our cultured soy plant. We are receiving terrific feedback on introducing this beneficial product to the marketplace.”

Probiotics are a hot trend in the food industry and are turning up in a myriad of foods such as fruit drinks, energy bars and popsicles. In fact according to Datamonitor's Productscan Online, in 2007 more than 158 new probiotic food products hit the grocery shelves, compared with just four products in 2002.

Wildwood’s Probiotic SoymilkTM is packed full of live beneficial cultures to strengthen the body’s immune system and promote digestive health. It’s a good source of protein, iron, and vitamin A and an excellent source of calcium and vitamins B2, B12 and D. The product contains L. Casei, L, Lactis, B. Bifidum, L. Bulgaricus, L. Rhamnosus, L. Acidophilus and S. Thermophilus.

According to the Journal of Food Science, researchers from Victoria University in Australia report that adding probiotic bacteria to soymilk may enhance the solubility of calcium up to 90 percent. The research also reports that adding probiotics to soymilk enhances the absorption and metabolism of beneficial soy nutrients and isoflavones.

Soy isoflavones are well known phytoestrogens that have been studied for their role in cancer prevention and slowing down the aging process in peri-menopausal women. Soy isoflavones have proved to be a popular alternative to hormone replacement therapy for those wishing to control menopause symptoms without resorting to drugs.

Experts suggest that daily consumption of probiotics can provide consumers with benefits such as a boost to the immune system and relief from intestinal distress.
