Valensa to launch line with BiovaFlex
Valensa International of Florida has entered into a license agreement with Biova of Iowa that will allow Valensa to include the patented BiovaFlex water-soluble eggshell membrane ingredient in a proprietary new series of formulated joint-health products. In addition, Valensa was granted a worldwide exclusive license for BiovaFlex in gummy-type chewables for joint health. In late 2009, Valensa announced that it had filed provisional patents for a range of joint, cardiovascular and eye-health care dietary supplements and medical food formulations featuring Aker BioMarine krill oil and other scientifically sound condition-specific ingredients. The agreement with Biova is a continuation of Valensa's programme in the area of joint health.
Study supports benefits of Alguard
Results of a new clinical study show that Alguard, an all-natural cosmetics ingredient developed by Frutarom, provides immediate beauty enhancement when applied to skin. Alguard is known for its ability to provide long-term protection to skin, but this study is the first to demonstrate it can also offer skin enhancement immediately after the first usage. Following the encouraging results, Frutarom has released a preservative-free, eco-certified version of Alguard. Alguard is derived from a polysaccharide surrounding red microalgae adapted to the extreme conditions of the ocean tidal zone. This polysaccharide is the survival secret of the red microalgae. It forms a protective layer, shielding the algae from harsh elements. Alguard forms a similar protective layer, or 'active shield,' when applied to the skin.
