5000% growth lands Doc Popcorn on Inc. list

Inc. magazine ranked Doc Popcorn No. 59 on its 32nd annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The fresh-popped, natural flavored popcorn franchise also claimed the No. 3 spot on the Top 100 Retail Companies list and the No. 5 seat on the Top 100 Colorado Companies list.

“We are honored and thrilled to be recognized by Inc. and our goal is to continue to innovate and bring the ‘Greatest Snack on the Planet’ to our customers in high-traffic venues throughout the US and the world,” says Rob Israel, cofounder and “Big Pop” of Doc Popcorn. “To help us achieve this goal, we have 100 amazing POPrietors (franchise owners) building their businesses and growing the Doc Popcorn brand every day.”

The 2013 Inc. 500, unveiled in the September issue of the magazine, is the most competitive crop in the list’s history. To make the cut, companies had to have achieved a staggering minimum of 918.59 percent in sales growth. Doc Popcorn’s three-year revenue growth was 5,011 percent.

"Not all the companies in the Inc. 500|5000 are in glamorous industries, but in their fields they are as famous as household name companies simply by virtue of being great at what they do. They are the hidden champions of job growth and innovation, the real muscle of the American economy,” said Inc. magazine editor Eric Schurenberg.

Since launching the franchise in 2009, Doc Popcorn has opened approximately 80 locations in 25 states. As a result, Doc Popcorn has been recognized as one of the hottest and fastest-growing snack franchises in the country and has secured its position as the largest popcorn retailer in the world.
