Alkemist Labs now selling Extrasynthese phytochemical standards

Alkemist Labs has officially begun selling phytochemical reference standards developed by Lyon, France-based Extrasynthese as the U.S. distribution partner, which was announced last month. Petra Erlandson has joined the Alkemist staff as strategic sales manager – reference materials to work with customers on standard selection. A new section of the Alkemist website listing available products and prices, with an ordering function, was launched April 20. Visit alkemist.com/products.

“Reference Standards are used in the measurement of content or presence of the many phytochemicals contained in natural products, and have direct impact on the ability to assess safety, quality and potency of raw materials and finished products,” said Elan Sudberg, CEO of Alkemist Labs. “We’re fortunate to have Petra part of the team to help companies understand and incorporate reference standards as part of their increased commitment to valid, fit for purpose product testing.”

“As the industry focuses more intently on transparency and testing, direct access to the phytochemical reference standards developed by Extrasynthese will help our customers raise the bar on meeting and exceeding cGMP compliance and demonstrate their commitment to the safety and quality of their products,” Petra said. “Working with clients to help them bring their testing programs to the next level is really exciting to me.”

Petra joins Alkemist after eight years in various roles at ChromaDex, including product line manager and marketing manager. She holds a bachelor’s of science in chemistry from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, Calif.
