Food isn’t the only thing in the kitchen that should be sustainably produced. Bee’s Wrap founder Sarah Kaeck and her family raise their own animals and grow much of their own food but wanted something more environmentally friendly than plastic to store it all in. So she began playing around with different ingredients and found that by blending organic cotton muslin, beeswax, jojoba oil and tree resin, she could create a food wrap that could be reused again and again.

In this interview at Natural Products Expo East, Kaeck emphasizes how critical small and independently owned stores have been in getting her product into the hands of customer and helping the company scale one step at a time. “The store owners are great at explaining our product and talking to the customers," she says. "They have a real love for it and that has allowed us these amazing relationships with them, but also, we don’t have to deal with the large-scale distribution right off the bat."
