Capsugel extends partnership with Vitamin Angels

Capsugel announced a two-year extension of its commitment to help Vitamin Angels fulfill its mission of helping at-risk populations in need—specifically pregnant women, new mothers, and children under 5—gain access to high-quality lifesaving and life-changing vitamins and minerals. Capsugel will continue to donate capsules through a partnership effort with the Andrew Lessman Foundation and ProCaps Laboratories, which will fill the capsules with prenatal vitamins that are then donated to Vitamin Angels for distribution around the world.

“Vitamin Angels’ profound caring for the well-being of others is nothing short of inspirational, and a value that we hold dear at Capsugel as well,” said Guido Driesen, president and chief executive officer of Capsugel. “Through our partnership with the Andrew Lessman Foundation, we are proud to play a small part in Vitamin Angels’ most admirable efforts, which are having a significant, positive impact on the health of tens of millions of at-risk women and children worldwide.”

The agreement builds on Capsugel’s existing two-year commitment, extending the company’s support of Vitamin Angels for an additional two years.

“We are thrilled to continue our strategic partnership with Capsugel and the Andrew Lessman Foundation,” said Howard Schiffer, president and founder of Vitamin Angels. “Their annual donation enables us to help more than a quarter of a million women each year by providing them with the critical prenatal vitamins they need to keep them and their babies healthy during pregnancy and beyond.”

Capsugel’s majority stakeholder, KKR, is a strong advocate of both the company’s work with Vitamin Angels and its overarching commitment to help those in need.

“We have been working with each of our Industrial portfolio companies in the U.S. to partner with a charity that aligns with the mission of the company,” said Pete Stavros, member of KKR and head of the firm’s Industrials investment team. “As usual, Capsugel was ahead of the curve. With its ongoing support of Vitamin Angels, Capsugel is demonstrating the values and behaviors we expect of all of our companies—and of ourselves.”
