This data chart details consumer usage and spending for supplements in the years 1999-2007.

Adult consumer usage is categorized by five consumer usage levels: heavy consumers, regular consumers, occasional consumers, rare users and non-users.

Data fields presented for each of consumer usage level include: adult population in usage category, percentage of total US adult population, number of purchases per month, dollars spent per month, annual total purchases, and percent of total adult consumer supplement market.

Chart 56 provides consumer usage and spending patterns for the U.S. supplement market and will help any executive trying to better understand the behaviors of supplement consumers.
