Metagenics, Inc., a global pioneer in science-based nutrition and wellness, on Monday named Brent Eck as its new president and chief executive officer.

Eck is an accomplished leader who joins Metagenics with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong legacy in launching new products and bringing new innovations to market through effective sales and marketing strategies. He spent the last 13 years in global leadership roles at Fresenius Kabi, a global healthcare company that specializes in clinical nutrition. Most recently, he served as executive vice president with responsibility for U.S. sales, marketing and business development.

“Metagenics is the best kept secret in the healthcare industry,” said Eck. As Metagenics’ new CEO, Eck’s top priorities will be to accelerate the company’s growth and promote wellness by driving awareness of Metagenics’ continued innovations in leading-edge nutritional solutions. “In my new role as CEO, I intend on working with our executive team and employees to maximize awareness of Metagenics’ breakthrough science-based products and empower more individuals to live happier, healthier lives.”

Brent was selected with unanimous support from the Metagenics board of directors and leadership team following an exhaustive search. “Brent’s passion for our business, combined with his global perspective, sales and multi-channel experience makes him an ideal leader to help us deliver on our growth potential and maintain our vision of helping as many people as possible through Metagenics’ nutritional solutions,” said Roger Colman, chairman of the board.
