Mount Laurel, N.J.-based antioxidant supplement manufacturer Astavita signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with USA Triathlon, the national governing body for Triathlon, Duathlon and the Multi-Sport Lifestyle, and a member of the Olympic organization. Astavita will provide financial support for the long-course elite team and coaching program, as well as supplying its signature product, Astavita Astaxanthin, to the athletes.

NutriScience Innovations, supplier of Suntheanine brand L-theanine, relocated to a larger office and warehouse in Trumbull, Conn.

In honor of National Burn Awareness Week 2007, Feb. 4-10, Simi Valley, Calif.-based derma e Natural Bodycare donated four cases of its Scar Gel to the nonprofit Orange County Burn Association, which provides patient support programs and services for recovery from burn injuries.

Napa, Calif.-based Annie's Homegrown, maker of natural and organic pastas, is converting its 11 all-natural macaroni and cheese products to certified organic. According to the company, since 1998, Annie's has sourced more organic durum semolina wheat than any other organic pasta producer in the United States.

Vermont Soap of Middlebury, Vt., received a Best Product of 2007 award for its new line of organic foaming hand soap. The editors of weekly national magazine Quick & Simple chose Vermont Soaps as one of the most groundbreaking, time-saving products of the year relating to home, health, fashion and beauty.

National Enzyme Company, an industry enzyme-formulation expert and supplier, is celebrating 75 years in business. This milestone makes NEC one of the oldest companies in the dietary supplement industry and marks it as the creator of the enzyme category in the supplement industry.

Global Lifescience Solutions, based in Ann Arbor, Mich., began offering expanded validation and good manufacturing practices services to the dietary supplement and pharmaceutical industries in January. The contract research and consulting firm will now provide services to help manufacturers comply with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's draft Good Manufacturing Practices, which are anticipated to be finalized in 2007.

La Farge, Wis.-based farmers' cooperative Organic Valley added South Dakota's first certified-organic diary farmers as members. In addition, Organic Valley members Ron and Maria Vakulskas Rosmann and their sons received the 2006 Spencer Award for Sustainable Agriculture, one of Iowa's largest sustainability honors awarded annually by the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University. The Rosmanns operate a 600-acre farm near Harlan, Iowa.

El Dorado Hills, Calif.-based NutraCea signed a distribution agreement with Med-Chem, based in Sydney and Auckland, to move its stabilized rice bran into the Australian and New Zealand functional food markets.
