Nut-free goes high class at 13th Annual Food Allergy Ball

Food allergies are on the rise, affecting everyone from the kid down the street to the New York socialite in the Dolce & Gabbana frock. The latter could be seen at this year’s 13th Annual Food Allergy Ball, held Dec. 6at the Waldorf Astoria in New York and presented by the Food Allergy Initiative (FAI).

Aside from offering well-heeled and sensitive foodies an array of allergen-free delights, including crudite with fine herb sauce and quail egg and frisee salad, the event was designed to drive awareness of life-threatening food allergies and raise money to support FAI’s research into food allergy cures. This year’s event raised more than $4.5 million.

Check out the Wall Street Journal’s review and photos of the event.
