Oxylent teams with Vitamin Shoppe for Vitamin Angels

Vitalah®, creator of Oxylent, is participating in a program offered by the Vitamin Shoppe aimed at driving consumer awareness about the importance of Vitamin Angels, a nonprofit organization that connects undernourished children and mothers with critically needed vitamins and minerals. For every box of Oxylent sold at Vitamin Shoppe stores nationwide during the month of October, Vitalah will donate 25 cents to Vitamin Angels.

According to Lisa Lent, founder and CEO of Vitalah, “Every 25 cents donated to Vitamin Angels gives one child potentially lifesaving doses of vitamin A for a year. Twice-yearly doses of vitamin A can alleviate Vitamin A deficiency (VAD) in children under 5 who are at risk.” An estimated 190 million children under 5 do not get the vitamin A they need. Vitamin A deficiency is a major underlying cause of child mortality, however twice-yearly supplementation can reduce overall child mortality for at-risk children 6 to 59 months by about 24 percent. Adds Lisa, “We are inspired by the work that Vitamin Angels does because it changes the lives of so many families globally.”
