Read on to understand the unique impacts the pandemic is having on two different demographics.

The global pandemic has changed everything. But for some shopper demographics, those changes are more pronounced. Using data collected by The Hartman Group and The Food Industry Association, one can examine how COVID-19 has impacted the grocery habits of Latinx and Black shoppers over the last few months.

Few have escaped anxiety caused by the pandemic. The vast majority of all shoppers across the United States say they are either very concerned or extremely concerned about the virus.

However, the pandemic is clearly causing more disruption for Latinx and Black shoppers. More than half of Latinx shoppers said the pandemic caused them to either lose their wages or their employment, and 16% of Latinx and Black shoppers said they experienced changes in their living situation—which is stressful even without a novel virus spreading across the nation.

For Latinx and Black Americans, convenience appears to be a key shopping value, as both demographics are significantly more likely than all shoppers to try online options such as meal kits and grocery delivery.

Check out the below infographic to learn more about the emerging shopping habits of these two important groups.
