Pharmachem buys Florida Food Products' aloe biz

Pharmachem Laboratories Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary, Improve USA, has acquired the aloe vera business including the ALOE CON product line, from Florida Food Products, according to Peter Hafermann, president of Improve USA. “Pharmachem will continue to sell the ALOE CON product line to current and future customers and distributors through Improve USA,” said Hafermann.

“This purchase strategically complements our existing aloe vera raw material supply business at Improve,” added Hafermann. “The synergies resulting from the combination of two outstanding aloe suppliers, together with Pharmachem’s expertise, and our contract manufacturing capabilities through the Alix Technologies Inc. Division, instantly creates a premier international source for nutraceutical and personal care applications for aloe vera.”

Thomas Brown, vice president of Florida Foods Products, added, “We are pleased to have found a good partner in Pharmachem Laboratories Inc. to realize the sale of our aloe vera business. We are confident that they will continue to expand the business and support customers through their strong resources.”

Brown added that with this completed transaction, Florida Food Products hereby exits the aloe business and will focus on its other specialty ingredients businesses.

In addition, Oliver Andersen, formerly of Florida Food Products, has joined Improve USA effective immediately. He will continue to serve existing customers and distributors as vice president for Improve USA, managing a larger product portfolio for the company.
