Roots - VerMints, an absolutely all natural line of mints and pastilles, for people who want to refresh their breath with true flavor rather than chemicals and preservatives.

Like most good things, VerMints started in our kitchen. We tested scads of recipes using all-natural and organic ingredients – some local, like organic maple syrup instead of corn syrup – to replace the chemicals and meat byproducts that were in all those other mints. A winning formula was found and our first flavor – PepperMint – was produced for market.

Growth - At first, PepperMint was our only flavor. Our popularity was growing and so were we. Within a couple of years, we introduced five additional flavors – CinnaMint, WinterMint, GingerMint, Chai and Café Express – all boasting pure taste and natural and organic ingredients.

At the same time (early 2004) that we expanded our line, we extended our reach into the Natural Food market. Working with like-minded people, we set a course for national distribution. We redesigned our packaging, increased production capacity and launched a broad sales initiative to get VerMints onto shelves in most major markets. We are currently in distribution through Tree of Life (Natural Divisions), United Natural Foods (Nationally), Nature’s Best (So. Cal), Haddon House (NJ), Vermont Roots (Vt) and Associated Buyers (NH). VerMints will also sell direct to retailers when needed.

Dedication - As our business grows, our dedication to an all natural philosophy is stronger than ever. We choose to work with partners who share our concern for healthful living and the environment. We are committed to using USA home-grown all natural or organic ingredients, like organic Vermont maple syrup, pure Vermont spring water, natural ground ginger root, organic mint leaves and fair trade coffee. Sensitive to our customer’s diverse needs, we manufacture VerMints to exacting specs, preventing cross contamination with particular allergens. VerMints are gluten free and nut free, conform to kosher standards, and contain no animal products, so they’re vegan friendly.

In early 2010, Two new sizes were introduced; Pocket Pack (4 piece plastic reusable container) and smaller tin (18g) in the hope of expanding into other diverse markets.

When we started out in that kitchen in Vermont, we were on a mission to create the highest quality, best tasting all natural mints and pastilles on the market. That kitchen may be gone, but our mission carries on.

What makes this company unique
VerMints are made using USA home grown certified organic ingredients in a sugar based candy plant where there is no chance of cross contamination with gluten products, peanut products, dairy or soy products and a host of other allergens. Simple reason is there is no reason why those items need to be in the plant! VerMints are lozenge shaped mints and pastilles which are Kosher Certified, Vegan and contain no artificial flavors, sweeteners or coloring.
