Two natural products retailers are among the Natural Products Association's honorees in its annual awards announced this week.

Pat Sardell of Country Vitamins in Corvallis, Ore., is one of two Industry Champion Award winners. She is a past NPA president and was active in the passage of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act.

Nature's Bin in Lakewood, Ohio, in the Socially Responsible Retailer Award winner, recognized for its efforts integrating social responsibility in its business. In November 2011, Natural Foods Merchandiser did this report about how the nonprofit natural foods store started as a vocational training program for people with disabilities.

In addition to these retailers, the NPA awards recognize doctors, researchers, dieticians and others who have advanced the natural products industry.
