Weedkiller products more toxic than their active ingredient, tests show

It’s not just weedkilling ingredients like glyphosate that are harmful to human cells—new research shows that they’re potentially even more toxic when mixed with other chemical ingredients. The U.S. National Toxicology Program has begun examining, for the first time ever, the effects of herbicide formulations like Monsanto’s Roundup on human cells. Early results show that these “formulations are much more toxic,” according to the researchers, but do not necessarily prove that they’re causing any diseases. Read more at The Guardian…

 

Drinkable meal startup Ample Foods raises $2 million

VC firm Slow Ventures led a $2 million round for Ample Foods, a Soylent-like nutrition drink powder developed with busy Silicon Valley startup employees in mind. The company offers a keto version, with protein and collagen from grass-fed cows, probiotics and 10 to 15 grams of fiber. There’s also a vegan version.
