Eat less saturated, trans fats to curb heart disease: WHO
The World Health Organization has issued new draft recommendations that suggest people get no more than 10 percent of their daily calories from saturated fat found in foods like butter, milk, coconut and meat, and no more than 1 percent from trans fats. Total fat consumption should also not exceed 30 percent of daily calories, the organization said. Its recommendations are based on scientific evidence that it says demonstrates that high levels of saturated and trans fat intake are associated with higher risk of cardiovascular diseases. Cold shipping in hot demand as the world craves more fresh food
While shipping fresh foods across the world was previously reserved for large distributors that could afford to hire cargo ships with big refrigerated space, there are now refrigerated containers called reefers that allow shippers to monitor and control the amounts of carbon, oxygen and nitrogen inside, in order to keep food fresh for as much as a month.
