Grated American cheese wouldn’t be ‘natural’ under senate bill

A Senate bill passed by voice vote on December 13 aims to define “natural cheese” as “cheese being produced from animal milk or other dairy ingredients in accordance with established cheese making practices.” This would exclude pasteurized, processed, cold pack and grated American cheese foods from legally existing under the “natural cheese” label. 2019 could be a turning point for plant-based and cultured meats

Major companies have long since realized that meat eaters, in addition to vegans and vegetarians, are incorporating plant-based meat into their diets, and the theme for 2019 is reaching as many markets as possible.
