A historic Earth Day is unfolding, as leaders from 150 countries prepare to sign the Paris climate treaty at the United Nations. Each country will still have to go through the process of ratifying the agreement for it to become international law, but the signing indicates an international sense of urgency around reducing greenhouse gasses.
