Naropa University's Authentic Leadership Center and Naturally Boulder are co-presenting a two-day workshop customized for the natural and organic products industry on Thursday, June 27, and Friday, June 28, in Boulder, Colorado.

ntrepreneurs, CEOs, investors, organizational change makers, trainers and coaches, the Authentic Leadership for Naturals workshop will help natural and organic leaders access and express their own authenticity; engage difficult conversations with skill and compassion; and effectively navigate change in their personal and organizational roles.

Sheldon Romer, who co-founded Rudi’s Organic Bakery in 1977 and was its chief executive officer until 2002, is a guest faculty member for this workshop. The lead faculty member is Susan Skjei, the founding director of the Authentic Leadership Center at Naropa University. Skjei has a doctorate in human and organizational systems and leadership from Fielding Graduate University.

The conference is scheduled from 9 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. each day at the Nalanda Events Center, 6287 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder, Colorado. Another session is scheduled for Dec. 4 and Dec. 5 at the same location.

The cost for one person to attend the June workshop is $595; if a second person attends, a 10% discount will be applied. A group of three to five registrants will receive a 15% discount. For groups of six or more, contact Naropa. Some partial scholarships are available.

For the December conference, an early bird price of $495 is available through Oct. 25. Discounts for additional registrants also apply.

Natural industry leaders who have attended an Authentic Leadership workshop include, according to the event’s website, Jeff Tkach of the Rodale Institute; Adriane Pilcher of The Jackfruit Company; Matt McLaughlin of Organic India; and more.

This partnership of Naropa University and Naturally Boulder was born out of the recognition that the ever-growing dynamic natural products industry is at a critical juncture. The time is right to reaffirm the principles of authenticity and transparency, and to bring the powerful practice of authentic leadership into the ways we run our businesses.
