The Natural Marketing Institute, based in Harleysville, Penn., hired Greg Stephens, R.D., and Linda Povey as vice presidents of strategic consulting. Stephens was previously vice president for Nurture Inc., and Povey has market research experience with The Body Shop, the World Wildlife Fund and the United Nations.

Endangered Species Chocolate, based in Indianapolis, hired Becky Kingery as quality coordinator. She was previously quality engineer at General Mills.

Planet Dog Foundation awarded the Full Circle Grant to Shari Duke, Planet Dog's newly appointed operations manager. The award recognizes an employee who exemplifies the values of the company and foundation by jumping in to help when needed, regardless of workload.

Peilin Guo, R.D., was named treasurer of the board of the Natural Products Association, China. Guo is vice president of functional foods and international markets for Los Angeles-based Jarrow Formulas.

Giovanni Cosmetics, based in Campton, Calif., appointed Sandra Arnold to the newly created position of vice president of sales. Arnold has more than 25 years of executive management experience.

The Health Freedom Foundation, an advocacy group based in Arlington, Va., has made several staff changes. Michael Ruggio was hired as general counsel, Jim Fussell as campaigns manager, Victoria Eubanks as community outreach manager, Terri Tucker as office coordinator and Carrie Haughawout as director of development of state chapters.

Arlington, Mass.-based supplier Global Organics added two new members to its management team. Lisa White was hired as director of operations and business development. White was most recently vice president of operations and quality at Annie's Homegrown. Ed White (no relation) was hired as quality assurance manager, and was previously employed at Shaw's Supermarkets and Stop & Shop.

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods & Oils, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, hired Luther Chell for the new position of inside sales and business development manager. Chell has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing, business development and health services.

Kathryn Arnold, former editorial director of Yoga Journal magazine, was named creative director of the Life Balance Institute, a nonprofit organization based in Belvedere, Calif., dedicated to helping people find meaning and freedom in life through the practices of Buddhist mindfulness, inquiry and reflection.

Corte Madera, Calif.-based EO Products hired Donna Myer as national sales manager. Myer has 20 years' experience in the natural and organic health and body care category, most recently with Kiss My Face.

Amy Brooksbank is the newly appointed marketing manager for Harry's Fresh Foods of Portland, Ore. Brooksbank was most recently with Rainbow Light Nutritional Systems.

Natural food broker Sunshine Specialties Northern California, based in Penn Valley, Calif., hired Lauri Wardlaw as its newest representative for the health and body care division. Wardlaw was the health and body care assistant manager for five years at the Natural Foods Co-op in Sacramento, Calif.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Embria Health Sciences hired Kevin Boot as regulatory counsel, in order to move toward voluntary government compliance facilitation of its ingredients. Boot was previously senior regulatory affairs manager for Kemin Health LC.

Sabinsa Corp., based in Piscataway, N.J., appointed Ed Olson as senior vice president of manufacturing. Olson formerly worked with Cornerstone Research & Development, Alpine Health Industries, Alpha-Pak and his own company, Olson Nutritional Services.

The Foster, R.I.-based nonprofit Organic Center hired Utne Reader's former executive marketing director Lisa Proctor as its vice president of communications.

Eden Prairie, Minn.-based American Cereal promoted Dan Hazen to general manager. Hazen started with American Cereal in 1992 and was previously vice president of sales for Country Choice.

Chicago-based ingredient supplier SourceOne Global Partners appointed Sam Davidson as marketing manager. Davidson joined SourceOne in 2006 as corporate communication manager, and was previously a regional and national marketing associate for Adidas.

Decatur, Ill.-based Archer Daniels Midland Co. named Gerd Mueller vice president of sales for the company's natural health and nutrition division. He joined ADM in 2004 and most recently was international sales director for Europe for the NH&N division. Also, Greg Dodson was named business director for the division. He joined ADM in 1997 and was most recently product manager for vitamin E, sterols and tocopherols.

Aloha Natural Brokers, based in Pukalani, Hawaii, promoted Pat O'Connor to vice president of sales. O'Connor joined Aloha in 2005.

The Dietary Supplement Education Alliance, a Sarasota, Fla.-based nonprofit, elected new officers for 2007. Jon Benninger of Virgo Publishing is president, David Morrison of The Vitamin Shoppe is vice president and Michael McGuffin of the American Herbal Products Association is secretary/treasurer.

Port Charlotte, Fla.-based manufacturer Enzymedica hired Rob Streisfeld as national educator. Most recently, Streisfeld was with Personal Health Design.

Benicia, Calif.-based InterHealth Nutraceuticals hired Fiona Taylor as marketing director. Taylor brings more than 15 years of experience to the position.
