Minneapolis-based Cargill Health & Food Technologies, a developer of ingredients for food and dietary supplements, announced that its president, Ted E. Ziemann, has been elected to the Consumer Healthcare Products Association?s board of directors. CHPA is the 123-year-old trade association representing U.S. manufacturers and distributors of over-the-counter medicines and nutritional supplements products. Ziemann joined Cargill in 2000 as president of Cargill?s Nutraceuticals and assumed his current role as president of Cargill?s Health & Food Technologies in 2001.

General Nutrition Centers of Pittsburgh, manufacturer of nutritional supplements, appointed Margaret Peet as senior vice president and national sales director. Peet was formerly founder and managing director of Health and Diet Centre Ltd., a U.K.-based nutritional supplements chain, which was acquired by GNC in 1995. During her tenure at Health and Diet Centre, she oversaw expansion of the number of stores from one to more than 50.
Organic Valley of LaFarge, Wis., appointed Sonny Luehrmann as a regional sales manager in the Midwest. Luehrmann brings more than 17 years experience in the grocery business, including serving as the regional account coordinator for Wild Oats.
Global Green USA, the U.S. affiliate of Green Cross International, founded by former Soviet President Mikhail S. Gorbachev, gave Gary Erickson the 2004 Green Cross Millennium Award for Corporate Environmental Leadership.
