Natural Foods Merchandiser

Scobee’s generosity touched others

To NFM Readers,
The natural products industry has recently lost a very special member in Peggy Scobee. Peggy was one of the most caring, giving and loving people I have known in almost 30 years in the industry. She was a dear friend who took me under her wing when I returned to the Bay Area in 1987. Peggy began her career at the Chico [Calif.] Co-Op and progressed to co-store manager along with industry veteran Jean Greenfield. She then worked for the Living Foods Store group as well as Whole Foods Market before moving to Los Angeles with her children to become the Western sales manager for Earth Friendly Products.

Peggy, you touched so many lives, and we miss you already.

With appreciation and love,

Walter Robb, president and chief operating officer, Whole Foods Market and Jean Greenfield, regional buyer, Northern California division, Whole Foods Market

Note: An education fund has been established for Peggy?s daughter, Marissa Anne Scobee, 16, and her son, Reynario Francisco Cmiel-Lopez, 9. Checks should be made out to Fidelity Investments and sent to:
